If Getting Your COVID Shot Requires ID, Why Doesn’t Voting?

"Pretty much every other country in the world has voter ID. Mexico has voter ID. So how are

WE racist for having voter ID?" said radio and TV commentator David Webb.

Mr. Webb is right of course, but Senators are about to vote on legislation, the H.R.1 we’ve been telling you about, now rebranded as "S. 1," that includes a risky change to how America's elections work: it will outlaw any state from asking voters to show a legal ID card before casting their vote.

Polling shows most Americans support voter ID. After all, Americans need to show an ID for many other transactions. For example, an ID is required before you can buy alcohol, give blood, book an airplane ticket, or adopt a pet. An ID must also be shown if you want to open a bank account, get a library card, rent a car, or buy cigarettes. And an ID is mandatory if you want to get Social Security, a fishing license, food stamps, a marriage license -- or a COVID vaccine.

So, why should voting for President be any different?

This makes no sense, unless your intention is to make America a one-party state with Democrats permanently in power.

If HR1 passes, when arriving at the polls, voters will not be required to show ID and can simply sign a statement in which they claim to be who they say they are. This undermines many states’ voter ID laws, which were enacted to combat impersonation fraud, voter registration fraud, duplicate voting, and voting by ineligible individuals, such as illegal aliens

But it gets worse. Under S1 states will be required to automatically add to voter registration rolls every person - regardless of voter eligibility - who partakes in certain government programs, such as receiving welfare or obtaining a driver’s license. Other provisions of S.1 then restrict the ability of states to verify eligible voters and remove ineligible voters from voter registration rolls. This provision will automatically enroll ineligible voters such as illegal aliens.

And, in another chaos-producing provision, S.1 requires states to immediately register a person to vote upon request, even on the day of an election. With no buffer-period to verify personal information, this provision enables voter fraud.

But the cherry on top is an echo of Soviet Dictator Joseph Stalin’s dictum that it doesn’t matter who votes, what matters is who counts the votes. So, the section of the bill starting on page 166, line 2 removes the integrity of the local government to verify voter rolls and oversee elections and gives the power to count votes entirely to the now Democrat-controlled federal government.

So, why would Senators want to let people vote for our President without showing an ID?

To transfer all federal power to the Democratic Party and turn America into a one-party state is the most logical answer, because by putting themselves in charge of deciding who votes, and putting themselves in charge of counting the votes, they effectively control the outcome of all elections.

We urge CHQ readers and friends to do three things to help defeat S.1 now that the Senate is writing its own bill.

First, go to Free Roots and with just a few mouse clicks express your opposition to S.1 https://freeroots.com/go/why-is-voting-different.

Second, send this article, and other CHQ articles that explain the dangers and impact of S.1 to your contacts – family, friends, church, club and civic group email lists are a great place to start.

Finally, use the toll-free Capitol Switchboard (1-866-220-0044) to call your Representative and Senators to express your opposition to S.1. If you need some inspiration, here is a call script developed by our friends at Heritage Action for America:

Hi, my name is [FIRST NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY AND ZIP CODE]. I’m calling on [MEMBER OF CONGRESS] to oppose S.1.

S.1 is supposedly the “For the People Act,” but a more appropriate title would be the “For the Politicians Act.”

Here are three reasons why I want my senator to reject any effort to pass S.1:

The bill would give public funds to politicians' election campaigns. Under no circumstances should public money be used to fund political careers.

S.1 would also allow candidates to be paid a salary out of their campaign funds...those same campaign funds that would now be funded with public money.

S.1 would federalize our election processes, which are currently run by the states. This is D.C. politicians trying to make sure the game is rigged in their favor. Politicians already in Washington should not be choosing who goes to Washington—voters should!

There are many more reasons to oppose S.1, but I’ll just leave you with these three.

Please reject any and all efforts to pass S.1

Thank you for passing along my message. Have a good day.

Nothing you do today will have more impact on the preservation of constitutional liberty than taking action to help defeat S.1. We urge you to go to https://freeroots.com/go/why-is-voting-different and make those phone calls now!
