How The GOP Establishment Wrecked America In Just One Week

This past week may go down in history as the week Democrats, actively assisted by the Republican establishment, finally wrecked America.

The destruction was accomplished through two mundane days on Capitol Hill that probably went unnoticed in the heartland and among the everyday working folks who are focused on family, job, church, and the rest of civic life in the country.

The first was the confirmation of General CQ Brown to be Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Brown is a confirmed and unabashed Cultural Marxist, whose “woke” agenda as Chief of Staff of the Air Force has seen the primary American power projection arm of our forces go from “marginal” to “weak” to “very weak” while Brown focused on getting pronouns right, racial balance and gender politics.

Brown is far behind in Air Force recruiting goals and is bleeding highly skilled pilots and technicians at an alarming rate – but he has equity officers in every unit.

You can read our articles documenting Gen. Brown’s destructive management of the Air Force through these links:

And it is not like Brown’s dangerous command failure wasn’t well known on Capitol Hill.

The readiness of all variants of F-35 aircraft has cratered below 60%, dropping by 11 percentage points in 2022 alone.

Editor’s Note: And the Air Force literally “lost” an F-35 when the pilot ejected due to “bad weather” and the crashed top-secret aircraft couldn’t be found for a couple of days.

Additionally, the entire B-2 bomber fleet was grounded from December 2022-May 2023, incapacitating a major component of the Nuclear Triad, after two serious safety incidents within 15 months. Only one such incident had occurred in the 30 years prior to Gen. Brown’s command.

Indeed, according to the Air Force Times, the Air Force has spent the past four years making a concerted push to ready its planes for war. It’s gained almost no ground.

General Brown took over as Air Force Chief of Staff in August of 2020. In November of 2022 the Government Accountability Office issued a report that found that many of the US Air Force’s most important fleets did not meet annual mission-capability rate goals.

This includes these important fleets:

We know Senators received over a half-million letters, phone calls and emails demanding a “NO” vote on General Brown’s confirmation, yet all but 11 Republican Senators voted to confirm this proven failure as senior officer of the entire Unites States armed forces.

Here’s the list of Senators who voted to destroy what has been, up until now, the finest and most lethal military in history:

Barrasso (R-WY)

Blackburn (R-TN)

Boozman (R-AR)

Britt (R-AL)

Budd (R-NC)

Capito (R-WV)

Cassidy (R-LA)

Collins (R-ME)

Cornyn (R-TX)

Cramer (R-ND)

Crapo (R-ID)

Daines (R-MT)

Ernst (R-IA)

Fischer (R-NE)

Graham (R-SC)

Grassley (R-IA)

Hagerty (R-TN)

Hoeven (R-ND)

Hyde-Smith (R-MS)

Kennedy (R-LA)

Lankford (R-OK)

McConnell (R-KY)

Mullin (R-OK)

Paul (R-KY)

Ricketts (R-NE)

Risch (R-ID)

Romney (R-UT)

Rounds (R-SD)

Schmitt (R-MO)

Scott (R-FL)

Sullivan (R-AK)

Thune (R-SD)

Tillis (R-NC)

Wicker (R-MS)

Young (R-IN) And that list includes many Republican hypocrites, some who are current or former military officers who have run and made their political careers as “friends” of the armed services: Joni Ernst, Rick Scott, Lindsey Graham, Dan Sullivan, and every Republican member of the Senate Armed Service Committee, except Tom Cotton and Tommy Tuberville, the hero of the fight to defeat the Brown nomination.

The next great American military failure won’t be the shameful retreat before the ragtag guerilla army of the Taliban – it will be in a confrontation with Russia or Communist China and be much more lethal to the life of the American Republic – but at least our troops will be led by race-based officers and get addressed by the pronouns they prefer.

The other day that may go down in history as fatal to constitutional liberty was in a way even more mundane than the confirmation of one flag officer – Wednesday’s collapse of the attempt by a coalition of conservative and moderate Republicans to craft a spending plan that would cut spending, close the wide-open southern border, defund Gen. Brown’s destructive Diversity, Inclusion and Equity programs in the military, end the weaponization of the Department of Justice, the FBI and the CIA, and accomplish a host of other Republican goals.

As former Texas State Senator Don Huffines wrote in an op-ed for the London Telegraph, "The Mexico border has been, and will continue to be, the number one policy issue facing Texas – and America. Security is the safeguard of freedom, and there can be no serious discussion of the everyday things like marginal tax rates, education enrichment, or highway beautification projects if there is instability across our 1,254-mile-long southern perimeter."

The #NoSecurityNoFunding plan wasn’t perfect, but it was a solid basis for accomplishing much of what the GOP ran on in 2022, and it brought together the House Freedom Caucus and the House Main Street Caucus in support of border security and many other conservative policy objectives.

However, the plan collapsed because Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy wouldn’t support it, and the House's establishment Republicans, such as RINO Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, along with Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell undermined it by calling it “extreme,” which is always their code for principled conservatism.

What’s going to happen now is Senate Democrats will put forth a plan that will fund the government at Biden levels and do nothing about the disaster at our southern border, permit the Department of Justice to continue persecuting Donald Trump and his supporters, keep spending money on indoctrinating our service members with the “woke” ideology of Cultural Marxism, keep the unlimited spigot of military aid to Ukraine open, and fund a host of other Biden Democrat abominations.

Most Americans have gotten so used to these yearly budget crises that when the inevitable Mitch McConnell – Chuck Schumer middle of the night Christmas Eve spending package is passed they won’t realize that Congress has just funded the continued destruction of our country by keeping the southern border open admitting millions of illegal aliens and the weaponization of our federal security agencies against them and their neighbors – but by then it will be too late to do anything about it.

CHQ Chairman Richard A Viguerie has said for many years that the greatest impediment to governing America according to conservative principles isn’t the Democrats it is the Republican establishment. Perhaps it is time to amend that to say the greatest impediment to SAVING America isn’t the Democrats, it is the Republican establishment.
