It now looks like Republicans have won a definite majority in the U.S. House of Representatives and that Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the present House Minority Leader, is most likely to be Speaker of the House when the new majority is seated in January.
We say Rep. McCarthy is “most likely” to become Speaker because his election to be #3 inline to the presidency is no sure thing. Conservatives have serious and legitimate questions about McCarthy’s fitness for the job of leading House Republicans given his mediocre (at best) performance during the 2022 midterms and his long record of cave-ins, compromises, and failures as Minority Leader.
There are a number of things McCarthy must do to reassure conservatives and quell the mounting rebellion on the Right of the House Republican Conference, if that is even possible.
One of the easiest things he could do to reassure conservatives would be to announce that three traitorous Democrats, Representatives Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell and Ilhan Omar, will be ousted from sensitive committee assignments.
We conservatives are all too aware of Adam Schiff’s record of abusing his position as Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence. However, a brief recap to refresh Kevin McCarthys’ memory may be in order.
National Review once described Schiff as “a standard-issue liberal California Democrat, habitually critical of Republicans and slow to criticize members of his own party, with exactly the positions one would expect from a congressman representing Hollywood.”
However, the election of Donald Trump changed Schiff into something much more dangerous – the central figure in creating and pursuing the phony Trump – Russia investigation and the chief prosecutor in the Trump impeachment saga, where he defied every constitutional standard in the effort to fabricate a case against then-President Trump.
Schiff went far beyond any existing norms of partisanship to leak and lie about President Trump often making bold-sounding accusations for which no evidence was ever produced.
And the only way he got away with it was to pretend his seat on the Intelligence Committee gave him access to secret information no one else had, take Schiff off the Intelligence Committee and his power to use real or imagined secret information to damage Republicans goes away.
Another California Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence who has abused the trust bestowed upon any member of that Committee is Rep. Eric Swalwell.
Swalwell, who was a 5-minute candidate for President in the 2020 Democratic Primary and never got out of microdigits in any poll, was proven to have carried on a relationship with a Red Chinese spy named Fang Fang, also known as Christine Fang. Ms. Fang disappeared from the United States about the same time her cover was blown, but by then Swalwell had been carrying on with her for several years.
Republican Rep. Greg Steube and colleagues sent a letter to Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Christopher Wray, inquiring if the Bureau has made any efforts to investigate the relationship between Swalwell and the suspected Chinese spy, saying in part:
"We know that the threat from Communist China is dire as they attempt to infiltrate our universities, intelligence communities, and even our highest levels of government," Steube said. "At a minimum, we need to remove Eric Swalwell from the Intelligence Committee and demand a thorough and immediate investigation into his ties with Fang Fang. Anything less would be a threat to our national security and complete failure on behalf of the American people."
It will surprise no one to learn that Steube never got an answer and Swalwell remains on the House Intelligence Committee to this day.
Finally, there is anti-American Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar to deal with.
Rep. Omar is one-woman walking security breach who has been credibly accused of a host of campaign finance violations, serial infidelity and even arranging a sham wedding to assist in immigration fraud.
But it is her anti-Semitism and open connection with Muslim terrorism organization and individuals that justify her removal from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where she now serves as the Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations.
After one particularly vicious anti-Semitic rant twelve pro-Israel organizations signed a letter addressed to Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling on them to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-5) from the Foreign Affairs Committee.
Pelosi naturally did nothing.
As the EMET letter pointed-out:
Rep. Omar’s presence as a keynote speaker to raise funds for Islamic Relief USA, whose parent organization and chapters have documented ties to terrorist organizations, demonstrates that she has learned next to nothing over the last few weeks when she was reprimanded by your [Speaker Pelosi’s] office and by other Democrats for posting ugly, anti-Semitic attacks on Jews and their organizations.
For weeks articles have been published in the United States and abroad warning about Rep. Omar’s upcoming speech before Islamic Relief USA and documenting the group’s numerous ties to terrorist organizations and individuals as well as anti-Semitic views from its own leadership.
But Rep. Omar insisted on continuing to publicly ally herself with Islamic Relief, which only this month was criticized in a leaked Tunisian Commission document for allegedly providing funding to establish “logistical support” for Jihadist terrorists operating on the Libyan-Tunisian border…"
In 2014 Israel, our strongest ally in the Middle East, banned Islamic Relief’s parent organization, stating it was posing as a charity but was funding Hamas, which refuses to recognize the existence of the State of Israel.
UBS, Credit Suissevi and HSBC, all respected international financial institutions, have also closed down bank accounts with Islamic Relief over fears of terrorist financing.
The Middle East Forum (“MEF”), a respected research organization based in Philadelphia, in an exhaustive June 2018 report, detailed Islamic Relief USA’s funding of projects that feature Hamas leaders…
The chairman of Islamic Relief USA’s board of directors is Khaled Lamada. He is the founder of Egyptian Americans for Democracy and Human Rights, one of the Muslim Brotherhood’s key lobbying arms in the United States.
In other words, Rep. Omar has publicly allied herself with the anti-American terrorist organizations The Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.*
Democrats have a history of placing anti-Americans and potential security leaks on sensitive committees, and they have a long history of abusing classified intelligence, leaking and in some cases giving it to our enemies: You can start with Communists like Alger Hiss and draw a straight line to Rep. Ron Dellums giving classified material to the Communist rulers of Grenada and from there to Rep. Ilhan Omar’s potential for passing information along to America’s Islamist enemies, with whom she shares an obvious ideological commitment.
If Kevin McCarthy wants to prove to conservatives that he has the spine and the stones to lead a resurgent House Republican majority he could start by playing as tough with Democrats on their committee assignments as they did with Republicans, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was bounced from her committees merely for annoying Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats, not committing a security violation.
We urge conservatives to call the Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 ask for Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s office and tell him you want Democrat Representatives Schiff, Swalwell and Omar removed from and kept off of any sensitive committees, such as the House Intelligence Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the Homeland Security Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.
