The Right Resistance: Democrat/Joe Biden Tell-All books are definitely more appealing

The Tell-all book.

It seems with each succeeding presidency there’s a similar phenomenon at play. Regular establishment news media coverage of official administration policy ebbs and flows according to the hot topics of the hour, but the inside story rarely sees the light of day unless something dramatic happens like the senate rejects a presidential appointee or a member of the first family is involved in a salacious and embarrassing scandal that unintentionally highlights an aspect of the chief executive’s personal life that he’d rather keep hidden from public view.

See Biden, Hunter, for a stellar example. Senile president Joe Biden’s youngest son can’t keep his name out of the headlines no matter how hard the elder man’s handlers work to bury the gossip involving the 50-something-year-old lad. This is primarily due to the fact that Hunter is a morally challenged sleazebag of the lowest order. But that’s a story for another time.

Somewhat surprisingly, the Joe Biden administration has drawn its share of “insider” tell-all tales exposing internal dynamics that shed negative light on the liberal president’s treatment of close associates and his relationships with key Democrats. Serious political watchers expected there would be some commentaries, but what’s emerging is truly… unanticipated. Shocking, perhaps?

Lord knows there were more than a few tomes addressing Donald Trump’s first four years in the executive mansion. A number of authors (I won’t bother recounting them here; many of their books are still on the shelves of your local Barnes & Noble if you’re interested) tapped anonymous and official sources to depict the outsider lifelong real estate developer and reality TV celebrity-turned populist political crusader as a hot-tempered control-freak who rarely read briefing material and instead relied on cable TV news (mostly Fox News) for his opinions about matters of great import.

These “reports” rarely added anything of value to the day’s political deliberations. Each president has his own unique style and way of managing staff and turnover -- and journalists’ tell-all chatter as well.

The range of proficiencies and personalities varies widely in the White House and it’s only natural that some folks don’t last very long while others hang on for years. Many of the disgruntled ex-staffers apparently were lured by fleeting fame and an ever-closing interest window to air their grievances in the form of first-hand witness accounts of action and intrigue.

Frankly, the predictability of it all gets boring after a while… unless it’s Joe Biden we’re reading about. In a story titled, “Biden blues: New book says Obama is jealous of Biden”, Ryan King reported at The Washington Examiner:

“In public, former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden exhibit a deep bond, but behind the scenes, their rapport is fraught with tension, according to a new book. Since Biden ascended to the presidency, Obama has felt envious of his former vice president and has ‘complicated feelings’ about him being commander in chief, according to the new book, This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future, by Alexander Burns and Jonathan Martin, obtained by Fox News.

“’Nancy Pelosi, who spoke regularly with the former president, came away from her conversations with Obama during this period with a matter-of-fact diagnosis. She told a friend: ‘Obama is jealous of Biden,’’ the book claims.

“Obama and the president have ‘occasionally’ had discussions over the phone during Biden's presidency, but the talks were ‘hardly the stuff of the tight brotherhood both men had sold to the country as a cheery political fable,’ according to the book. Biden privately expressed concerns that Obama was envious of him, the authors claimed. ‘I am confident that Barack is not happy with the coverage of this administration as more transformative than his,’ Biden said, according to an adviser the authors spoke with.”

Whoa! Now, THAT is a tell-all book! Hold on here! You mean to tell me Barack Obama is “jealous” of Joe Biden? If true, this goes against practically everything that’s ever been reported about the premier leftist bro-mance of the 21st century! Liberal news talkers always depict the Biden/Obama relationship as one of the two (the much older cognitively challenged one) chasing the other (the cool “woke” diverse one) like a puppy nipping at his master’s heels, doing anything possible to earn a kind word of praise, a tasty treat or mere acknowledgement of his earthly existence.

If there’s any jealousy or envy present, it’s usually the old guy wondering why the young guy gets all the attention when they appear together.

After all, wasn’t it The Big “O” withholding his endorsement of Biden until the last possible moment in 2020 after he’d earlier counseled the Delaware doddering dolt, “You don’t have to do this (run for president), Joe” and also observed, “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to F--k things up”? These leaks of what Obama really thinks of Biden showed no hint of jealousy there, but here, I’m inclined to take Nancy Pelosi’s word for it! Obama is turning green… with envy!

As with all the careless whispers that came out of Donald Trump’s White House in the last presidency, one wonders where Burns and Martin heard about these drips of info. Was Dr. Jill Biden emailing back and forth to tabloid reporters about Hunter Biden’s illegitimate son with the stripper and the “envy” speculation somehow escaped assurances of confidentiality? Or was Jen Psaki having coffee with her old buddy Michelle Obama and the former first lady let it slip that Barack can’t sleep at night because of his longing to be Joe Biden? If there’s any kind of jealousy at play here, it’s because Biden’s the one who now gets to ride around on Air Force One whenever he wants, world leaders pay attention to (laugh at?) him, three squares (meals) a day are included in his federal per diem and served by the incomparable White House culinary team, and, the “football” (the nuclear codes) is never far away. Don’t forget the limo rides and a military band following Joe everywhere playing “Hail to the Chief” whenever he enters a room. That’s a sweet deal, isn’t it? Contrast it to poor Obama, who remains saddled with intrusive, privacy eliminating Secret Service protection for the rest of his life and -- mostly -- has to pay for everything himself now. The audiences at his speeches still stand and liberal talking heads at CNN and MSNBC wish he were eligible to run for president again, but it just ain’t the same as it was during his glory years at the helm. Talk about an ego deflater. I wonder if there’re high level counselors available to talk with the former world’s most powerful man to help him get his head straight before it’s too late.

Of course, Obama’s animus could also be that he’s furious with Biden for bungling what’s left of his presidential legacy while also causing most of the country to crave another Republican president after Joe steps away. After all, what hasn’t Biden screwed up? There was that Afghanistan thing, Joe’s complete disaster at the southern border, his loud fart in front of a British Royal at COP 26 (somebody step on a duck?), gas prices shooting through the roof, runaway inflation, horrible Democrat polling numbers and lots of people talking about invoking the 25th Amendment. Interest rates are destined to go up. Economic growth will go backwards. A recession will likely emerge just in time for the midterm elections. Obama won’t be envious of the Democrat congressional losses, will he? What about all those Biden legislative failures? They’re getting too numerous to list. No large, federally paid-for “climate change” mitigation? No current version of Solyndra? No “voting rights” bill jammed through Congress to federalize elections? No “Build Back (More) Better” multi-trillion spending spree? No ending of the filibuster for legislation? No forcing Joe Manchin to bow down and kiss Joe’s ring in public?

Even the badly mislabeled “infrastructure” bill was only made possible because Mitch McConnell gave his go-ahead for it and he corralled about a score of RINOs to vote for it. Speaking of infrastructure, Burns and Martin’s book also contains a juicy tidbit about how Biden treated gal pal veep Kamala Harris badly when the first female second-in-command tried to include welfare spending in the “bipartisan” negotiations: “Biden dismissed her comment immediately,” the authors reported. So harsh was the response “that even the Republican senators were taken aback.”

Whoa, again! Another Biden beat-down in print, this time his bosom pal Kamala as the subject! Joe Biden was disrespectful to a woman of color? Where’s the outrage? Where is the FBI whistleblower? Where are the deep state stooges when you need them? Will Republicans initiate impeachment hearings over the incident? Will Black Lives Matter demand an apology and retraction from Biden? Will Dr. Jill receive retaliatory treatment from Kamala’s husband? Please, please… someone, tell-all!

It almost sounds like there’s trouble in paradise in Biden/Obama/Kamala Democrat-land. And we got to hear about it courtesy of a tell-all book, one that sounds like it’s well worth reading if folks want to see what’s really happening inside the big White House with the pillars, the one with those scary-looking black SUVs parked in front.
