Anti-gun Democrats and Far Left celebrities have already pounced on the tragic July 4th shooting in Illinois – one of the most anti-gun states in the nation – to demand MORE gun control!
Illinois already has an “assault weapons” ban AND Red Flag Gun Confiscation Laws. Both FAILED to stop Robert ‘Bobby’ Crimo III from acquiring the guns he used in his assault on the Highland Park, Illinois Independence Day Parade.
And the Left has been salivating since an image of Crimo wrapped in a Trump flag surfaced on the internet, but a closer look at Crimo’s online tracks reveal a troubled young man obsessed with school shootings and ANTIFA and anarchist symbology and themes.
FLASH UPDATE RED FLAG FAIL! Reuters reports Crimo had two previous encounters with law enforcement - an April 2019 emergency-911 call reporting that he had attempted suicide and another in September of that year regarding alleged threats "to kill everyone" that he had directed at family members.
Police responding to the second incident seized a collection of 16 knives, a dagger and a sword amassed by Crimo in his home, though no arrest was made as authorities at the time lacked probable cause to take him into custody, according to the Reuters report. NBC News reported "There were a lot of red flags,” according to a former Highland Park High School classmate, who asked not to be identified.
The Daily Beast reports Crimo purchased both his rifles after the September 2019 incident. He could only have done so with a FOID card issued by the state police.
Covelli further reported that Crimo bought the weapons when he was under 21, an age when those with even just a misdemeanor conviction are generally barred.
The federal government’s minimum age for purchasing a firearm is 18. But Illinois requires those under 21 to get the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must also obtain a FOID card.
The state police say the father, Robert Crimo II, signed the form enabling Robert Crimo III to obtain two rifles, even though the son was said to have attempted suicide and to have threatened the family.
According to the UK’s Daily Mail, his uncle, Paul Crimo, has claimed he was behaving normally on Sunday night. Paul Crimo claims his nephew showed “no signs of violence” - despite YouTube rap videos in which he glamorized school shootings. The Daily Mail reports the shooter's motive for Monday's attack “remains unknown.”

Crimo also goes by Awake the Rapper, has more than 16,000 listeners per month on Spotify.
Music videos posted by Crimo online last fall include a drawing of himself shooting people online, and a disturbing clip of himself throwing bullets on the floor of a classroom while wearing armor in what appears to be a joke about school shootings.
Crimo also had a Discord server where he would chat with friends and fans, and his most recent post was a picture of Budd Dwyer, the Pennsylvania state treasurer who killed himself on live TV in the 1980s, which he captioned: 'I wish politicians still gave speeches like this.'
He also made references to suicide and frequently posted on a message board discussing graphic depictions of murder and death, including a recent video he shared of a beheading.
It also appears that, in a blow to the justification for gun purchase “waiting periods” Crimo had been planning the killing for some time.
The Daily Mail reported police on Tuesday revealed that he legally owned multiple weapons including two rifles - one that was used in the attack and another that was found in his vehicle when he was arrested at 6.30pm last night. Crimo's motive remains unclear, but police say he had been plotting the attack for weeks.
He legally purchased the two rifles along with other guns in the local area - despite a ban on assault rifles in Highland Park, buying them at multiple locations and all in compliance with Illinois’ strict gun control laws.
On Monday, after the attack, dressed as a woman he fled among frightened paradegoers, pretending to be one of the victims.
But here’s the part of the Crimo story you won’t get from the establishment media, even the better outlets like the Daily Mail and Fox News.
On Tuesday The Gateway Pundit revealed information indicating Crimo is a radical progressive with ties to Antifa, progressive groups, and the occult.
In his social media and rapper promotions, Crimo uses a set of icons from Getty Images titled “mystic set with magic circles, pentagrams and imaginary chakras symbols, and a collection of icons with witchcraft and occult handwriting letters.” Crimo shares the icons throughout his media posts.
Crimo’s most recent video posted to YouTube showed him in the aftermath of a school shooting. Another music video showed a cartoon depiction of a man wearing a shirt with his YouTube channel’s logo on it, holding a long gun and being shot by police.
Joe Hoft of the Gateway Pundit reported:
“Now we have information tying Crimo to progressives, socialists, Antifa and the occult. Crimo’s social network and lifestyle are all progressively related. Crimo has ties to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) as noted by the tattoo on his neck. This is the largest and fastest-growing socialist organization in the U.S.”
This is the same DSA with which more than 70 members of Congress are affiliated. See the connection? Mark Dowling at the Independent Sentinel said it best when he wrote in 2014:
“All anyone has to do is look at the Progressive Caucus and the Congressional Black Caucus and you have your socialists.”
This is the far left of the Democrat Party to which the Biden administration is constantly pandering. This is the wing of the party that controls all policy coming out of the White House, whether it’s shutting down oil pipelines and drilling opportunities, thereby driving up the cost of gasoline, trying to destroy the Second Amendment, opening up the borders to terrorists and violent gangs, or encouraging abortion-rights activists to terrorize Supreme Court justices.
Still wondering why all the emphasis from the politicized and weaponized Homeland Security Department is on “right wing” terrorists.
The YouTube account that hosted Crimo’s videos, which had previously been accessible to the public, was unavailable Monday night, according to NBC, meaning his account was allowed to post videos right up until he went off on his shooting spree.
As independent alternative media personality Leo Hohmann observed on his LeoHohmann.com website, they need these patsies to push for more gun control.
You can take it to the bank that the establishment media won’t be investigating Robert Crimo’s ties to the Socialist Far Left, but for proof all you have to do to find it is review the photo montage (above) collected from publicly available sources by citizen researchers.
