Terrorists In Pearls And Lilly Pulitzer

Less than a week ago, the national organization of public school boards called on the Biden administration to protect its members from “angry mobs” of parents who protest against

COVID-19 restrictions placed on students and the teaching of critical race theory, characterizing the protests as “domestic terrorism.”

We guess it would be considered flippant to suggest if school boards did not waste their time and taxpayer money doing dumb stuff and arrogantly conducting themselves as if they were above the law and accountable to no one “angry mobs” would not show up at their meetings.

But we digress.

According to reporting by GQ Pan of the Epoch Times, the National School Boards Association (NSBA), which represents more than 90,000 school board members in the United States, wrote in a Sept. 29 letter (pdf) to President Joe Biden that the federal government must “deal with the growing number of threats of violence and acts of intimidation occurring across the nation.”

The letter moves on to cite incidents of “threats or actual acts of violence” against school leaders, alleging that parents who sought to express their opposition to mask and COVID-19 vaccination policies have been “inciting chaos” during school board meetings.

Mr. Pan also reported the letter denies critical race theory is being taught in classrooms, (an obvious lie on the part of the NSBA) and describes parents’ attempts to hold school board members accountable by posting watchlists online as “spreading misinformation.”

“As these threats and acts of violence have become more prevalent,” the letter claims, “NSBA respectfully asks that a joint collaboration among federal law enforcement agencies, state and local law enforcement, and with public school officials be undertaken to focus on these threats.”

Now here’s the kicker, Mr. Pan reported the NSBA asked that federal agencies such as FBI, the Secret Services, and the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security “investigate, intercept, and prevent the current threats and acts of violence” by whatever “extraordinary measures” necessary.

“As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crime,” the NSBA argued in the letter, encouraging the federal agencies to use laws designed to target domestic terrorism, such as the PATRIOT Act, to address the issue.

The group also asked Biden to direct the U.S. Postal Service to filter “threatening letters” and intervene in “cyberbullying attacks” that target students, teachers, and school leaders.

With leadership that is so far divorced from any understanding of the Constitution’s First Amendment and state laws of public transparency and accountability it is no wonder that schools are failing, and parents are angry.

But what’s even scarier is that Attorney General Merrick Garland is prepared to sic the FBI on these domestic terrorists disguised as suburban Moms in pearls and twin sets.

Eric Lendrum writing for American Greatness reports on Monday, Attorney General Merrick Garland directed federal authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to crack down on parents who protest against school boards over far-left indoctrination in their curricula, according to Politico.

In a written memorandum by Garland sent to FBI agents and FBI Director Christopher Wray, Garland said that his Department of Justice (DOJ) will announce further measures in the next few days that will “address the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel,” without citing any evidence of any such “criminal” activities. Among these measures will be a “federal task force” consisting of agents from the DOJ’s “criminal, civil rights, and national security divisions.”

As Mr. Lendrum reported, Garland baselessly accused such parents of making “threats against public service,” which he claims “run counter to our nation’s core values. Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety.”

The problem here is not that angry parents and taxpayers have morphed into a domestic terrorism movement, it is that arrogant education bureaucrats and little Hitlers on school boards are finally being called to account for their failures and their lies – and having been caught they are outrageously demanding protection from the very people to whom they are supposed to be accountable; taxpayers and voters.

Our advice to parents and taxpayers outraged by what is going on in their schools is don’t be intimidated. Go to your next school board meeting, take 10 people with you, sign-up to speak and say your piece.
