From 1999 to 2019, nearly 841,000 Americans died from a drug overdose. Effective police
work targeting drug smugglers, pushers and users is key to reducing and eventually stopping the drug overdose epidemic in the United States. But Vanita Gupta, Joe Biden’s nominee for Associate Attorney General of the United States, not only demands we defund the police, she also profits from drug trafficking.
You heard that right – the same Vanita Gupta who said Americans "all have implicit bias and racial bias.” And testified to Congress in favor of defunding and "shrinking the police" is a major shareholder in Avantor, a company that manufactures an essential ingredient used to make heroin and meth.
Not only does Vanita Gupta own between $11 and $55 million dollars in stock in Avantor, but Gupta’s father is also the chairman of the board of Avantor.
As our friend Carrie Sevarino of the Judicial Crisis Network tweeted, according to a Bloomberg investigation, Avantor produces and sells a key ingredient in Mexico known as acetic anhydride that Mexican drug cartels have used to mass produce high-grade, “China white” heroin and meth.
In 2012, Gupta wrote a shocking op-ed in the Huffington Post, arguing that “[s]tates should decriminalize simple possession of all drugs.”
While Vanita Gupta was advocating for a change to the U.S. drug enforcement policy that would only further line the pockets of herself and her family, people across the United States suffered the devastating effects of the national heroin and meth epidemic.
Note to Senator Joe Manchin: West Virginia was the #1 state for overdose deaths with over 142,000 West Virginians losing their lives to drug overdoses between 2010 and 2018.
The mission of the U.S. Justice Department is to enforce the law and ensure public safety. But President Biden has nominated someone for the Department's third-highest position who disagrees with that. Despite this, in a few days the Senate may vote Gupta to serve as U.S. Associate Attorney General where she would have the power to defund the law enforcement necessary to stop the overdose epidemic, while she and her family profit from the deaths of hundreds of thousands of vulnerable Americans.
That's why we must speak out against this radical nomination!
As the conservative leaders of the Conservative Action Project, including CHQ, explained in a letter published on February 28, 2021, anyone, who tried to hide their connections to drug trafficking and so obviously hates America should not hold high government office.
