Pray For Casey DeSantis

But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. Luke 8:50 KJV

Casey DeSantis, the wife of Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, has been diagnosed with breast cancer and we urge all CHQ readers and friends to lift her up in prayer for a successful treatment and recovery.

"I am saddened to report that Florida’s esteemed First Lady and my beloved wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer," the Republican governor said in a statement shared first with Fox News on Monday.

"As the mother of three young children, Casey is the centerpiece of our family and has made an impact on the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as First Lady. As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up," the governor emphasized, according to reporting by Andrew Murray and Paul Steinhauser of Fox News.

“At this time, we do not have any more details to share,” Christina Pushaw, press secretary for Gov. DeSantis, said about the breast cancer diagnosis.

Casey is a former Emmy award-winning television host and morning news anchor in Jacksonville. She also worked for the PGA Tour as a producer and on-air host. Her poise and confidence on the campaign trail were seen as important force multipliers during Ron DeSantis successful 2018 campaign for Governor.

As First Lady of Florida Casey DeSantis headed four public initiatives: Hope Florida, an initiative to guide mostly single moms on an individualized path to prosperity; the Resiliency Florida initiative, a partnership with professional sports teams and athletes to address the stigma surrounding mental health; the Hope Ambassadors program, a network of over 100 middle and high school clubs encouraging a campus culture of kindness and empathy through peer-to-peer mentoring and volunteerism; and “The Facts. Your Future.” campaign, an initiative to empower students with the facts surrounding substance abuse and how could negatively impact their lives.

In addition to her television career, Casey is a three-time equestrian national champion, as well as a runner-up NCAA division one champion. Casey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the College of Charleston, reported the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
