In his “It’s the ballgame” memo, CHQ Chairman Richard A Viguerie predicted that if the
Democrats seized control of the White House and Congress that they would quickly move to consolidate their power by federalizing elections and forcing states to adopt the fraud-ridden election laws that allowed them to steal the 2020 presidential election and the 2021 Georgia runoffs.
And true to form, the first bill the Democrats introduced as H.R. 1 was the so-called “For the People Act” a copious compendium of every fraud ridden election law proposal and attack on free speech and free elections that the Far Left has floated over the past two decades.
While MAGA conservatives flooded DC street to protest the stolen 2020 election Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Far Left Democrats House Administration Chair Zoe Lofgren and “Democracy Reform” Task Force Chair Rep. John Sarbanes released a statement telegraphing their determination to make sure no Republican was ever again elected President of the United States and Republicans never had the chance of gaining a majority in the House or Senate:
“Our democracy is in a state of deep disrepair. During the 2020 election, Americans had to overcome rampant voter suppression, gerrymandering and a torrent of special interest dark money just to exercise their right to vote. Across the country, people of all political persuasions – including Democrats, Independents and Republicans – are profoundly frustrated with the chaos, corruption and inaction that plague much of our politics.
“That’s why House Democrats are doubling down on our longstanding commitment to advance transformational anti-corruption and clean election reforms by again passing H.R. 1, the For the People Act.
“H.R. 1 will protect the right to vote, ensure the integrity of our elections, hold elected officials accountable and end the era of big, dark, special-interest money in our politics..."
Translation: Democrats will institutionalize the chaos and corruption of the 2020 election by mandating universal mail-in ballots, same day voter registration, giving Soros-backed organizations the greenlight on ballot-harvesting and empowering federal election officials to harass conservative donors while stripping states of their constitutional power to set the manner of elections.
Or as our friend election law attorney J. Christian Adams of the Public Interest Legal Foundation observed, “Democrats in Congress have announced their top legislative priority, and it isn’t health care, immigration, or taxes. Instead, they want to centralize power over elections in Washington, D.C. H.R. 1 is number one on the legislative agenda because it is the number one priority of House Democrats, leftist groups, deep-pocketed dark money, and those who use election process rules to help win elections — or at least to cause chaos.”
The Institute for Free Speech said the bill should be known as the “For the Politicians Act,” because it would institute sweeping new limitations on speech about campaigns and public affairs. “This radical bill would, in fact, greatly harm the ability of the people to freely speak, publish, and organize into groups to advocate for better government.
In particular, H.R. 1 would impose onerous and unworkable standards on the ability of Americans and groups of Americans to discuss the policy issues of the day with elected officials and speak to the public. Other sections of the bill would violate the privacy of advocacy groups and their supporters, stringently regulate political speech on the Internet, and compel speakers to include lengthy government-mandated messages identifying some of their supporters by name in their communications. H.R. 1 would also coerce Americans into funding the campaigns of candidates with which they may disagree in a system that research has proven hasn’t worked elsewhere. If signed into law, all of these provisions would be interpreted and enforced by a newly partisan Federal Election Commission.
The bill’s provisions are so complex and open to so many possible interpretations that the Institute’s views on the bill may well understate the chill this legislation might place on speech.
Some of the chaos-inducing complexities identified by Mr. Adams identified in H.R. 1 include the mandate of same-day voter registration that would obliterate state voter registration procedures.
Same-day registration is the practice that enabled sufficient voter fraud in Minnesota to give Al Franken a seat in the Senate. Enough ineligible felons popped into the polls on election day using same-day registration, and their illegal ballots were the margin of Franken’s victory.
Same-day registration promotes voting by ineligible voters. It also promotes chaos at the polls. If you want longer lines, same-day registration is the way to go.
H.R. 1 also limits the ability of states to cooperate to see who is registered in multiple states at the same time. This was a factor in the Nevada and Georgia results that was well-documented, but never allowed into evidence in court because the lawsuits were all dismissed on technical grounds.
H.R. 1 will undoubtedly sail through the Democrat-controlled House, but with the Senate apparently tied Senate Republicans need to understand what this bill does to their political future and kill this Leftwing power grab.
