Democrat Prosecutors Preside Over Murder Tsunami

Electing a Democrat as your local District Attorney or Prosecutor could get you killed, especially if he or she is backed by shadowy Far Left financier and Nazi collaborator George Soros.

Our friends at the Capital Research Center have just released a new report, “Living Room Pundit’s Guide to Soros District Attorneys” spotlighting an issue that many in law enforcement and politics have been warning of for years: the threat of activist district attorneys (DAs).

Specifically, the public imagination has been captured by the stories of activist DAs backed by the shadowy figure of George Soros. Soros has become something of a folklore monster whose reputation often exceeds reality, noted CRC’s Parker Thayer.

But when it comes to Soros’s involvement in backing left-wing district attorneys, Soros really is the archvillain that rumor makes him out to be.

In fact, Soros’s influence on left-wing DA candidates is often wildly underestimated, wrote Mr. Thayer.

Since 2016, when Soros first began to back the campaigns of district attorneys (presumably as part of the “Resistance” to the Trump administration), CRC researchers have tracked more than $29 million in funding from Soros through a personal network of political action committees (PACs) formed specifically to back left-wing DA candidates. In total, Soros cash has generously supported over 20 individual candidates, many of whom won their elections and remain in office today.

For the last several years Soros has been quietly financing this revolution in criminal justice reform, doling out tens of millions of dollars to progressive candidates in district attorney races throughout the country amid movements to abolish bail and defund the police.

Working with an activist attorney, Soros, 91, mainly funnels cash through a complicated web of federal and state political action committees as well as non-profits from coast to coast, public records show.

And as “Living Room Pundit’s Guide to Soros District Attorneys” shows, not all of them are in progressive big cities, but where Soros has backed a prosecutor a rapid rise in crime, especially murder generally follows.

Indeed, while not all of the top murder cities have a prosecutor with documented ties to Soros, they do have one thing in common: all the prosecutors are Democrats.

The cities that set new records for murder last year (not in order) are:

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Soros-backed Democrat Larry Krasner

Columbus, Ohio - Democrat G. Gary Tayck

Indianapolis, Indiana - Democrat Ryan Mears

Louisville, Kentucky - Democrat Mike O'Connell

St Paul, Minnesota - Democrat John Choi

Portland, Oregon - Soros-backed Democrat Mike Schmidt

Tucson, Arizona - Democrat Laura Conover.

Toledo, Ohio - Democrat Julia Bates

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Democrat Hillar Moore III

Austin, Texas – Soros-backed Democrat José Garza

Albuquerque, New Mexico – Soros-backed Democrat Raul Torrez

And “Dishonorable Mention” goes to Chicago’s Cook County Prosecutor Soros-back Kim Foxx. The Chicago Police Department reported 797 homicides in the city in 2021, the most in Chicago since 1996 and more than any other city in the country.

“George Soros has quietly orchestrated the dark money political equivalent of ‘shock and awe,’ on local attorney races through the country, shattering records, flipping races and essentially making a mockery of our entire campaign finance system,” said Tom Anderson, director of the Government Integrity Project at the National Legal and Policy Center in Virginia, according to reporting by Isabel Vincent of the New York Post.

“I don’t think we’ve ever seen anything like this where federal election level money and resources are brought to bear and coordinated to effectively flip local level races where campaign finance restrictions make it almost impossible to counter,” said Anderson, adding that conservative opponents are hamstrung by local campaign finance laws that Soros doesn’t have to abide by because he is using independent expenditures and not directly coordinating with the campaigns.

Critics say the policies of Soros-funded DAs, which have included abolishing bail and, in the case of Chicago, placing hundreds of violent criminals on electronic tracking systems, have led to a spike in crime throughout the country. According to the FBI’s annual Uniform Crime Report released in September, the country saw a 30 percent increase in homicides in 2020 — the largest single-year spike since they began recording crime statistics 60 years ago. The report also saw a 24 percent decrease in arrests across the country, reported Ms. Vincent.

“The only good Soros prosecutor is a defeated Soros prosecutor,” Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) told The New York Post, and we agree. The problem is that for the past decade conservatives and law and order Republicans have been outgunned financially, here’s hoping that’s about to change thanks to the hard work and research of our friends at the Capital Research Center and the New York Post.
