Conservative Movement Rock Star Yesli Vega Earns Club for Growth Nod for VA's 7th District Election

Club for Growth PAC has endorsed Prince William County Supervisor and law enforcement officer Yesli Vega for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District.

“Yesli Vega is the embodiment of the American Dream: She is a first generation American who understands why it’s so important that we protect our country from Joe Biden’s radical socialist agenda. She will be a fighter for school choice, law and order, and returning prosperity to America. We look forward to her flipping this seat in November, taking back the House, and finally getting rid of Nancy Pelosi as Speaker,” said Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh

Current Democrat Representative Abigail Spanberger (CFGF Lifetime Rating 13%) is running for re-election against Vega.

And other leading voices in the conservative movement are also backing Yesli Vega.

“Vega is a great candidate–a true embodiment of the American Dream who will fight to make our communities safer and reverse the crime wave sweeping our country; defend the Constitution; and work to reinvigorate the economy as well as Americans’ faith in the future.”

“Vega will be a tremendous improvement upon Rep. Abigail Spanberger, the so-called moderate who votes in line with the Biden-Pelosi radical agenda and has been a huge disappointment to so many in the district. We look forward to seeing Vega take on Spanbeger this November and are confident that she has what it takes to flip this district. We wish Vega luck,” said Noah Wall, FreedomWorks for America Executive Director.

In 2018, Yesli Vega, who began her law enforcement career as a street cop with the City of Alexandria’s Police Department, won the Republican nomination and later defeated her Democratic challenger in a general election to earn a spot on the Prince William County Board of Supervisors.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Vega outlined the experiences she has endured in her life, including her brother nearly losing his life to MS-13 gang members, that moved her to seek a seat in the House and improve living conditions for residents in the 7th District.

"It's no surprise that our nation is in trouble under Biden and the Democrats," Vega said. "Virginians have seen not only gas, but grocery prices skyrocket, a humanitarian crisis after another to include the southern border, a crumbling education system, and a defund the police agenda that has caused rapid crime in our communities."

Describing how her brother was "gunned down" and almost died, Vega said the issue of crime in her community is "personal."

"When I talk about crime, when I talk about the violence, when I talk about the drugs that are coming into our southern border, it's personal, and I mean it," she said, adding that she wants to "set things in motion" for a better future for all Americans.

Vega said her experience as a law enforcement officer and her position on the board of supervisors in Prince William County has led her to better understand and connect with the needs and desires of those in the community.

"I can share with you that we conducted a county-wide survey where we asked folks in Prince William County what is a priority for them and the number one issue for folks is safe and secure communities," she said. "People don't want to live in crime-infested communities. People want to make sure that they are safe, that their children are getting the best education possible and that they're learning in a safe environment."
