Biden’s Surrender In Afghanistan Is A Defeat For Western Values

Updated: Jun 29, 2021

The vicious anti-American Islamists of the Taliban now control 144 districts in Afghanistan, according to the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. More than 170 districts are

contested, and the government has control over just 83 districts.

And when Afghan President Ashraf Ghani came to Washington to plead for a continuation of American support, he was brushed aside by President Joe Biden, refused even the courtesy of a joint news conference and told American “support” would be limited to leaving about 650 troops in the country to protect the U.S. embassy in Kabul.

But the really devastating blow to Ghani, the people of Afghanistan and the future of Western civilization was White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s statement that the war in Afghanistan is “not a winnable war.”

According to reporting by Jacqueline Feldscher, Senior National Security Correspondent for defenseone.com, Psaki said Biden made his decision based on the mess he already faced in Afghanistan when he first took office, pointing to decisions made by the Trump administration to cut the number of troops in the country and negotiate an agreement with the Taliban to withdraw all troops about three months after Biden’s inauguration.

“It’s important to take a step back and remember what we inherited,” Psaki said. “That’s the hand we were dealt. The president made a decision, which is consistent with his view that this was not a winnable war, to bring the U.S. troops home.”

“Are there challenges to it? Of course,” Psaki continued. “Will we continue to be engaged, as today is evidence of, with the government about how we can continue to provide humanitarian [and] security support? Yes, we will.”

Ms. Psaki must think Americans and our western-oriented Afghan allies are idiots not to recognize where this is headed, because we know what Joe Biden said and did to South Vietnam.

As our American troops were withdrawn and the Communist North Vietnamese began to overrun South Vietnam Biden opposed sending them aid and even opposed rescuing key allies who were marked for death by the Communist forces.

Our Afghan allies should expect the same treatment as we outlined in our articles Biden’s Surrender In Afghanistan Is America’s Shame and Under Biden There Will Be No Boats Out Of Afghanistan.

But let’s be honest, no American President, including George W Bush and Donald Trump – but especially Barack Obama and Joe Biden – fought a whole of government war in Afghanistan, and none of them understood that what we were fighting for was not some benighted desert only the Afghans want.

What we are (or should have been) fighting for was and is the defense of the western enlightenment against the savagery of the Taliban’s 7th Century Sharia-supremacist ideology.

If Joe Biden and Jen Psaki believe that not just the defense, but the advancement of the Western values of individual liberty, freedom of thought and religion and free markets against the savagery of the Taliban’s Sharia-supremacism is “not a winnable war” then we urge all our fellow Americans to buy guns and ammo and get ready to defend them here, because as 9/11/2001 showed us, the borders of Afghanistan are no barrier to the export of the Taliban’s savage Islamist ideology.
